American Society of Appraisers: Newsletter -- Special Governor's Edition

The Chapter 73 Newsletter is normally written by the President of the Chapter for its members. This Special Edition was written by Region 15 Governor, Paul D. Roberts, ASA.

Regional Governor's Message

We are nearing the end of the current fiscal year. As we move to the next year we should reflect on what we accomplished this past year.

Timothy Griffith, ASA our Chapter President, did an outstanding job this year. With his efforts we held worthwhile seminars at the Secaucus Library. Alan Aimone gave a wonderful seminar on The Value of Books. There were nearly 30 people in attendance with many from the local community. We also sponsored the mandatory Pennsylvania Law Course which saved many of us from having to travel to Pennsylvania. Both of these seminars were held at a great facility at no cost to our chapter. The USPAP course was also quite successful with 59 students in attendance.

For those of you who attended the Second Annual Region 15 Joint Meeting at Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty, what a day. We had over 60 people in attendance. The tour guide was great and the dinner meeting couldn't be better. Chairman Charles Gargano delivered a riveting talk on the redevelopment of downtown and Ground Zero in particular. We also appreciated the fact that the Chairman accepted the 9/11 plaque on behalf of Governor George Pataki. (Read more about jeweler Stefano Simone and his WTC plaque.)

I have selected New Jersey for the site of the third annual joint meeting. I am sure your chapter would love to hear from you with any ideas you may have on where we can hold it.

Please make sure you vote both in the local and international elections. For the international officers you can now vote directly online. For the chapter election you should have received a ballot if you are eligible to vote.

I hope to see many of you at the installation dinner in June. If I can be of any assistance in the meantime, please contact me.
